Olsen and Johnson play two friends, Skip Davis and Wally Jones, who own a gas station and are known for their comedic antics. When they receive a large sum of money accidentally sent to them, they decide to use the funds to help their friend Martha (played by Mary Howard) save her aunt's boarding house, which is on the verge of foreclosure.

In their efforts to help Martha, Olsen and Johnson become involved in various misadventures, including encounters with gangsters and mistaken identities. The film is filled with their trademark slapstick humor and fast-paced gags. The duo's comedic style often involves breaking the fourth wall, with characters addressing the audience directly (1937).
