in a remote Florida town near a swamp, where several local residents have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. The authorities are puzzled by the unexplained disappearances, and tensions rise within the community.
A game warden named Steve Benton (played by Ken Clark) becomes involved in the investigation. As he explores the swamp, he discovers giant, mutated leeches that are responsible for the disappearances. These leeches, which have grown to an unusually large size due to exposure to radioactive waste, are attacking and feeding on the local townspeople.
As the menace of the giant leeches becomes apparent, Steve, along with his wife Nan Grayson (played by Yvette Vickers) and the local sheriff, Sheriff Kovis (played by Bruno VeSota), must find a way to eliminate the deadly creatures and save the town (1959).
