Barney Chavez (played by Raymond Burr), a plantation owner in the South American jungle. When Chavez marries the widow of his recently deceased employer, strange and supernatural events begin to unfold. Chavez finds himself cursed and transforms into a gorilla, setting the stage for a tale of mystery and horror.
The film is characterized by its atmospheric jungle setting, the mysterious curse, and the blending of horror with elements of the supernatural.
