The story revolves around a German spy ring operating in Britain during World War I. The head of the British Intelligence Service, Admiral Sir John Cedric (played by Holmes Herbert), recruits a young and resourceful agent, Lady Zara (played by Margaret Lindsay), to infiltrate the German spy network.
Lady Zara adopts the identity of a German agent and becomes involved with the German spymaster, Baron Kurt von Rohback (played by Boris Karloff). As she gains the trust of the enemy, Lady Zara uncovers crucial information about the German plans (1939).
