The plot follows Walter Paisley, a busboy at a Bohemian café, who aspires to be an artist but lacks talent. After accidentally killing his landlady's cat, Walter covers the deceased feline in clay. To his surprise, the sculpture is praised by the art community, leading Walter to create more sculptures by any means necessary—turning humans into art.
The film explores themes of the desperation for artistic recognition and the lengths some individuals may go to achieve success in the art world. It's a dark comedy with elements of horror and satire, showcasing Roger Corman's knack for low-budget filmmaking (1959).
