"Escape from Sobibor" follows the experiences of Jewish prisoners who are held at the Sobibor extermination camp. The camp is a part of the Nazi regime's plan to systematically exterminate European Jews. The prisoners at Sobibor live in deplorable conditions and are subjected to brutal treatment by the Nazi guards.

As the realization of their grim fate becomes increasingly evident, a group of prisoners led by Leon Feldhendler, Alexander Pechersky, and others begins to plan an escape. Their plan involves not only breaking out of the heavily guarded camp but also rebelling against their captors.

The film depicts the prisoners' struggle for survival, their meticulous planning, and the tense execution of their escape plan. The breakout, which takes place on October 14, 1943, is a harrowing and intense sequence, and it results in the escape of approximately 300 prisoners (1987).
