Saphir is under threat from the evil Lord Kess (played by Yanti Somer) and his army of robotic soldiers. Kess intends to conquer Saphir and harness its rich mineral resources for his own gain. To thwart his plans, the Saphirians seek the assistance of a group of mercenaries and adventurers, known as the "Seven Golden Men," who have experience in intergalactic missions.

The Seven Golden Men are led by Captain John Boyd (played by Tony Lombardo), and they are a diverse and eccentric group, each with their own unique skills and abilities. Together, they embark on a mission to protect Saphir from Lord Kess's invasion and save the planet.

As the story unfolds, the Seven Golden Men face various challenges, including battles with Kess's robotic soldiers, encounters with bizarre alien creatures, and confrontations with hostile forces on distant planets. They also work to uncover Kess's plans and prevent him from exploiting Saphir's resources (1979).
