The story begins with the introduction of a group of adventurers and scientists led by Captain Tarnowski (played by Richard Denning). They embark on an expedition to explore a mysterious, uncharted island in the South Pacific. The island has remained hidden from the rest of the world and is known for its dangerous reputation.

Upon arriving on the island, the explorers discover that it is inhabited by a variety of prehistoric creatures, including dinosaurs and other long-extinct species. The group is in awe of the incredible creatures they encounter but soon realizes that they are also in grave danger.

As the explorers navigate the island's perils and face various challenges, they must find a way to survive and make their way back to safety. Their journey is fraught with encounters with dinosaurs, dangerous flora and fauna, and other natural hazards. The group also uncovers secrets about the island's history and its previous inhabitants (1948).
