The story is set in the future, where mankind has expanded its presence into space and established colonies on various planets. However, interplanetary conflicts arise as different groups and factions vie for control of valuable resources and territories.

The film primarily follows the crew of the spacecraft Sirius as they embark on a mission to investigate a series of mysterious occurrences on the planet Mars. The crew members are tasked with solving the enigma of disappearing spacecraft and strange events that have plagued the planet.

As the Sirius crew investigates the situation on Mars, they encounter alien beings and advanced technology that pose a threat to Earth and its colonies. It becomes clear that the Earth is facing an imminent and deadly war with an extraterrestrial race.

The crew of the Sirius must work together to uncover the truth behind the alien threat, thwart the impending war, and protect the future of humanity. Their mission takes them to various locations in the solar system, including the surface of Mars and other planets (1977).
