Charles Beaumont, a wealthy plantation owner portrayed by Robert Frazer, is also infatuated with Madeline. Beaumont seeks the assistance of Murder Legendre, who is known for his mastery over zombies through voodoo and dark magic. Legendre uses a potion to transform Madeline into a zombie, stripping her of her will and making her an obedient servant.

As Neil becomes increasingly concerned about his fiancée's strange behavior, he seeks help from local authorities and discovers the sinister activities of Murder Legendre. The film unfolds as a tale of romance, dark magic, and the battle between the living and the undead. (1932).
